We’ve heard it a million times before, but it’s worth repeating – dogs are man’s best friend! Life without dogs simply isn’t life as we’ve come to cherish it. These cuddly, cute companions are adorable beyond belief, loving, and always loyal.

It makes sense that we do everything we can to ensure their happiness and well-being. Pets are sentient beings with plenty of needs, and we are here to do their bidding, to be their voice, to provide for them, and to love them unconditionally. It’s time to get started!

Big Dogs Are Fun to Play With

Humans can coexist well with dogs, even big dogs, but there are a few hard and fast rules to consider. Dogs are generally active animals. They have relatively short lives, and we must maximize their fun factor so that they derive full enjoyment from their time on planet Earth. We are their caretakers, not their jailers.

That means we’ve got to be there for them when they need us, when they’re happy, and when they’re sad. Big dogs are fun to be around because we can play with them – they’re not frail. Pet parents routinely talk to their dogs, play tug-of-war with their dogs, and jump around frenetically to get the dogs all excited. It’s what we do – that’s the fun of having big dogs in the house.

If you’re a first-time pet parent or have simply forgotten how much fun dogs can be, check out the following game by Pragmatic Play. It’s called The Dog House – Dog or Alive. This social casino game is the embodiment of dog life. A high-volatility game by design – it dovetails perfectly with the high energy levels of young Labradors, Border Collies, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Aussies, and Rottweilers. It’s pretty much the dog lover’s game par excellence.

It’s sleek and stylish, colorful, and bursting with fanfare. This social game is a typical day of dog fun on steroids!

With this game in mind, you can understand how much excitement dogs bring to your life. And it’s certainly not a stretch of the imagination to envisage the pulse-pounding nature of pet parenting with a big dog in the house. Like us, these furry friends love to be pampered (on their terms). So, you will probably want to set up their crib with the finest accouterments, comforts, and fluff you can muster.

That’s your prerogative when you go to a free typical doghouse inside your home or on your porch. Make sure it’s adorned with everything they love, like a comfortable padded bed or doggy mattress, a few of their favorite toys, and a robust design. That’s a good place to start!

Sure, you can paint the doghouse bright colors and add a few personalized touches like ‘Fido Lives Here’ or ‘Paw Patrol,’ and you’re good to go. Next up, furniture around the home. This one is a deal-maker or a deal-breaker for first-time pet parents. If you have a dog that sheds, be prepared for what’s coming. Labradors typically have a moderate amount of fur compared to other breeds of dogs, and they shed.

These medium-shedding animals are certainly easier to deal with than German Shepherds, who are regarded as heavy shedders, or even Border Collies, who tend to shed all over the place.  To keep shedding to a minimum, proper grooming is required. That means brushing your pets daily to remove as much fur as possible. Now for the million-dollar question: How to reduce dog shedding and keep your home and furniture clean?

This takes some doing, but there are failsafe ways to get this done. For one thing, you are going to have to brush the dog daily. This is the most effective way to keep your home free of fur. It’s also a great way to keep the coat soft, shiny, and healthy. We are what we eat – that’s a certainty. The same rule applies to our pets. Always stick with high-quality dog food that is easily digestible. You want enough protein, but not too much that it harms your pet. Fatty acid supplements are also recommended, but this depends on your dog and your preferences.

Another thing to remember is medication for fleas, ticks, hookworms, heartworms, roundworms, and other intestinal parasites. Some pets have allergies, and it may be necessary to provide allergy relief to prevent scratching, biting, licking, and general discomfort.

Dogs Got Style

You’re probably wondering about the furniture in your home. Big dogs on furniture can be tough to deal with. Dogs, well, they smell, they shed, and they are pretty rough on delicate fabrics. Be advised if you have leather, fabric, or some sort of material on your sofa, bed, chairs, or recliners. You may have to cover your furniture with throws, seat covers, or other protected gear. Big dogs are heavy, and some like to dig into the seats to make themselves comfortable.

Unfortunately, dogs have plenty of power, with nails and teeth, and can easily puncture and destroy your furniture. A good mix of positive reinforcement through training, designated sleeping spots, and protection can save your home from the ravages of shedding, digging, and rough play by big dogs. If your furniture is coated in layers of dog fur, try removing it with brushes, rollers, and even duct tape or box wrapping tape. Hopefully, these tips will resonate with you and your furry little friend!
